Grippostad

Grippostad: description of the drug and its use

Grippostad is a combination drug used to relieve moderate and mild pain syndromes, as well as to treat colds and other infectious and inflammatory diseases. The drug is produced by the German company Stada Arzneimittel AG and contains paracetamol and ascorbic acid.

Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that relieves pain and lowers body temperature. Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, strengthens the immune system and helps fight infections.

Grippostad is available in powder form for the preparation of an oral solution, and also has several synonyms, such as Daleron S, Meksavit, Fervex for dry cough and others.

When using Grippostad, contraindications and possible side effects must be taken into account. The drug is not recommended for use in case of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or other components, as well as in cases of severe impairment of liver or kidney function. The drug should not be used by people with a genetic absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase or blood diseases.

Possible side effects when using Grippostad include allergic skin reactions, hematopoietic disorders, as well as liver and kidney dysfunction with long-term use of the drug in high doses.

An overdose of Grippostad can lead to symptoms of acute poisoning such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and sweating. In severe cases, liver failure and coma may develop.

When using Grippostad, it is necessary to take into account its interaction with other drugs. You should not simultaneously use other drugs containing paracetamol, other non-narcotic analgesics and NSAIDs, as well as barbiturates, antiepileptic drugs, rifampicin and chloramphenicol.

With long-term use of Grippostad for more than 5 days, monitoring of the peripheral blood picture and the functional state of the liver is necessary.

In general, Grippostad is an effective drug for relieving pain syndromes and treating infectious and inflammatory diseases. However, before using it, you should consult your doctor and take into account possible side effects and contraindications.
