Anterior cranial hernia

A cranial hernia is the release of ectopic or atypically localized glial and vascular elements through the anterior foramen into the intervertebral space. Hernias are accompanied by the appearance of neuritis of the trigeminal, glossopharyngeal and vagus nerves, shooting type headaches, sound fear and photophobia, general autonomic-dystrophic and dysamidatory phenomena. This group includes Selcourt syndrome, central paralysis caused by displacement of the cerebellar tonsils towards the large opening of the frontonasal canal and other diseases. At the first stage of diagnosis, examination, lumbar puncture, and functional tests are used. The choice of treatment depends on the cause of the disease and may include various methods - neurosurgical operations, drug therapy, physical therapy, etc.
