Gudushauri Compression-Distraction Device

Gudushauri compression-distraction device

Gudushauri compression-distraction device was created by academician O. N. Gudushauri in the 1960s. This device is designed to treat fractures and bone deformities by gradually restoring their shape and length. It consists of two main parts: compression and distraction mechanisms.

The compression mechanism allows the bone to be compressed, reducing its length and increasing the pressure on it. This allows you to speed up the healing process and prevent the formation of false joints. The distraction mechanism, on the contrary, allows the bone to stretch, increasing its length. This is necessary to restore the correct shape of the bone after a fracture or deformation.

The Gudushauri device is widely used in traumatology and orthopedics for the treatment of various diseases of bones and joints, such as fractures, dislocations, arthrosis, etc. Due to its effectiveness and ease of use, this device has become one of the most common treatment methods in this field of medicine.
