Having a Baby / How to Choose the Right Stroller?

Probably, parents living on the fifth floor of a city house without an elevator will choose a slightly different model than the happy inhabitants of a country house. Still, it’s worth focusing on a walk on more or less rough terrain (walking on the sidewalk along a polluted road simply doesn’t make sense), at a fairly low temperature and with a certain amount of necessary luggage (if you make any purchases along the way).

In fact, we are talking about a serious (in terms of costs) purchase of a vehicle for at least two family members (the driver and the person being driven), which they will actively use for about three years. So it’s better not to miss the choice.

Let's start with the general concept. Some strollers are designed as real transformers: a soft seat plus a backrest, which, if desired, can be set in a completely horizontal position, thereby complementing the functions of a sitting stroller with the advantages of one in which even a newborn can sleep comfortably. Other models are designed for ages older than 3 or 6 months, at which time the child can already sit independently. In this case, you can usually purchase a separate upper part of the stroller, which is installed on the same chassis and is used for recumbent walks of very small children. Finally, if you and your baby have to travel more or less often by car, pay attention to a system that allows you to install a child car seat (for ages 0+) on the same stroller chassis.

The chassis itself is another important point. It can be equipped with 3 or 4 large wheels or 8 smaller wheels, can be folded or disassembled... Ultimately, you only need to focus on your own habits and lifestyle. It is worth special care to ensure that the wheels reliably protect the crew from shocks and shaking on uneven roads. Otherwise, all chassis models are, perhaps, equally practical and reliable, and when choosing your baby’s first car, you only have to worry about the size of his trunk that is suitable for you!
