Hemoalkalimeter

Hemoalkalimeter is a device designed to determine the alkaline reserve of blood. It is used in medicine to diagnose and monitor acid-base imbalances.

The name of the device comes from the words "hemo-" (related to blood), "alkali" (alkali) and the Greek "metreo" (to measure).

The principle of operation of a hemoalkalimeter is based on titrating a blood sample with dilute acid until a neutral pH is achieved. Based on the volume of acid consumed, the concentration of bicarbonates in the blood is calculated, which is an indicator of the alkaline reserve.

Hemoalkalimeters are produced in the form of portable devices for express diagnostics. They allow you to quickly assess the acid-base balance of the blood and adjust treatment.
