Heterophoria

Heterophoria is a tendency for the eyeballs to deviate from parallel axes. Under normal circumstances, both eyes work together, simultaneously looking at the same point, but if you cover one eye with your hand, it will move away from the original parallel axis, while the other eye continues to look at an object. If you remove your hand, the second eye will immediately return to its previous normal position.

Most people have a mild degree of heterophoria called exophoria, in which the closed eye begins to move outward, away from the nose (compared to esophoria).

Heterophoria often leads to excessive eye strain, which develops as a result of a person’s unconscious efforts to look straight with both eyes.

What is heterochromatin?

Heterochromatin is chromatin that can be more intensely colored in interphase than euchromatin. It is believed that it does not contain genes and is not involved in DNA replication. Heterochromatin is often associated with inactive regions of chromosomes, which can be used to regulate gene expression.
