How to clean mirrors and windows without harm to health?

No housewife can avoid a major event like cleaning the house. And the more savvy she becomes in this matter, the easier it will be for her to clean her apartment. Perhaps the most meticulous and labor-intensive part of the entire process is washing windows and mirrors without streaks or soap scum. In our material we will talk about inexpensive but effective products for glass surfaces that you can make yourself and that will not harm your health.

Before you start cleaning your windows, first take into account what the weather is like outside. Don’t start cleaning when it’s windy - all the dust will collect on wet glass and your cleaning will leave only gray stains on them. In sunny weather, start cleaning early in the morning: in the afternoon sun, the detergent will quickly dry on the windows and leave soapy streaks.

Make your own detergent. Mix 2 tbsp ammonia, 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol and 1/2 tbsp dish detergent. Pour the mixture into a container with a sprayer, apply to the surface and wipe with a cloth with a latex microporous coating.

Another remedy will also effectively wash windows and mirrors: add two tablespoons of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of vinegar to warm water. The mixture helps to clean the surface from heavy dirt, possible stains after repairs and traces of flower pots on the windowsill.

If you don’t find a suitable napkin for cleaning windows, a regular newspaper with a black and white print can be a worthy replacement. Crumple a piece of paper, dip it in detergent and wipe the surface. When finished, take dry newspaper and re-polish the glass. When using newspaper for cleaning, be sure to wear gloves: paper will keep the surface clean, but may leave dark marks on the skin.

As a napkin, you can use not only newspaper, but paper filters for coffee makers. The filters absorb liquid perfectly, so they will not leave streaks or cloudy deposits on the glass. The method of application is the same as with newspaper: soak the filter in detergent, wipe the surface, then go through the dry filter again.

Window corners are the most difficult place to clean. Regular cotton swabs will help make the task easier: blot them with detergent and gently clean off any accumulated dust.
