The chronoperimetric technique is used in ophthalmology to determine the boundaries of the visual fields.
In ophthalmology, using chronoperimetry, you can assess the condition of the optic nerve, retina, visual analyzer and the central nervous system as a whole.
Chronoperimetry is carried out in a darkened room. The patient is asked to look at a glowing screen. The doctor records the time the patient spends trying to determine where the luminous point is located. This time is called latency. The shorter the latency, the better the visual analyzer works and the wider the field of view.
