Inhalation and Electroaerosoltherapy: How it works and how it is used
Inhalation is a treatment method in which drugs are introduced into the body through the respiratory system by inhalation. This method can be used to treat many respiratory diseases, including bronchial asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as to prevent and relieve attacks of these diseases. Depending on the method of application, there are various forms of inhalation, such as inhalation of water vapor or aromatic substances, aerosol inhalation, electroaerosol therapy and aeroion inhalation.
Aerosol inhalation is a method in which medicinal substances are contained in finely crushed (dispersed) particles - aerosols, which are either dissolved in water or suspended. The medicinal substance, being sprayed into the smallest particles and having a larger contact surface, comes into contact with the largest surface of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and is quickly absorbed into the blood.
Electroaerosol therapy is a treatment method in which inhalation is carried out using negatively or positively charged aerosols. This method can be used to treat respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma, bronchitis, COPD and others. Charged particles are attracted to the surface of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, which allows drugs to enter the body faster and more efficiently.
Aeroionoinhalation is a treatment method in which inhalation is carried out by inhaling atmospheric air particles carrying a negative or positive electrical charge - aeroions. This method can be used to treat respiratory diseases and improve the general condition of the body. The most commonly used particles are negatively charged oxygen particles.
In addition, there are other forms of inhalation, such as inhalation of mineral water or sea water. In terms of temperature, inhalation can be warm-humid (with heated solution), room temperature (without heating) and steam.
The possibility of direct action of the inhaled drug on the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract has particular advantages in diseases of the respiratory tract. Specially selected inhaled drugs can significantly improve the condition of patients and reduce the symptoms of respiratory tract diseases. In addition, inhaled drugs quickly enter the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, which allows for faster and more effective action of drugs.
However, when using inhalation, it is necessary to observe the correct dosage and follow the instructions for use to avoid possible side effects and complications. It is also necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of patients and contraindications to the use of inhaled drugs.
In general, inhalation therapy is an effective and safe method of treating respiratory diseases, which can be used either alone or in combination with other treatment methods.
