Instenon

Instenon: a remedy for improving cerebral circulation

Instenon is a pharmaceutical drug intended to improve cerebral circulation. It belongs to a group of drugs that help improve the functions of the brain and blood vessels. Instenon is manufactured in various countries, including Macedonia, Austria and Denmark, by Alkaloid, Nycomed Austria GmbH, Hafslund Nycomed Pharma.

The main components of Instenon include etamivan, hexobendine dihydrochloride and etophylline. These substances work synergistically to improve blood flow to the brain and ensure optimal functioning of the nervous system.

Instenon is available in several dosage forms, including injection solution, film-coated tablets, dragees and dragees forte. Various forms allow you to choose the most convenient method of application depending on the patient's needs.

The use of Instenon is recommended in cases of vascular and age-related brain diseases, consequences of insufficient blood supply to the brain, post-stroke conditions and dizziness caused by functional disorders of the brain. However, the drug also has contraindications. Its use is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, epileptiform syndromes, increased intracranial pressure and intracerebral hemorrhages. The use of Instenon during pregnancy and breastfeeding is permissible only under strict indications.

When using Instenon, side effects may occur, including a decrease in blood pressure, short-term tachycardia, discomfort in the heart and a slight headache. Typically, these phenomena resolve when the dose is reduced or the drug is discontinued.

It is also necessary to take into account the interaction of Instenon with other drugs. It enhances the inhibition of platelet aggregation caused by acetylsalicylic acid. However, in very high doses, caffeine can weaken the effect of Instenon.

In case of an overdose of Instenon, symptoms such as prolonged headaches and flushing may occur. Treatment in such cases is symptomatic.

During treatment with Instenon, it is recommended to avoid drinking large amounts of coffee and tea. When using the drug intravenously, the possibility of developing allergic reactions and reactions to injections is allowed.

It is important to note that the information provided above is based on my knowledge as of September 2021. It is recommended to consult a doctor or pharmacist to obtain more accurate and up-to-date information about the use of Instenon, its dosage and possible side effects.
