Intensain

Intensain: an effective remedy against angina and post-infarction period

Intensain, also known by its international name Carbocromen, is an antianginal drug produced in Croatia by the company Pliva. It belongs to the group of various antianginal drugs and is an effective drug for the treatment of angina pectoris and the post-infarction period.

Intensain is available in two dosage forms: an injection solution containing 40 mg of the active substance and a dragee containing 75 mg of the active substance - carbocromene. Carbocromene is the main active component of the drug.

Indications for the use of Intensain include angina pectoris, in the absence of a pronounced stenotic process, protracted and prolonged attacks, as well as the post-infarction period. However, before using the drug, contraindications must be taken into account. Intensain is not recommended for gastric and duodenal ulcers, liver and/or kidney diseases with impaired function, exacerbation of chronic gastritis and widespread stenosing atherosclerosis.

During the use of Intensain, some side effects may occur, such as bradycardia, low blood pressure, weakness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dyspepsia and itchy skin. Interaction with other drugs is also possible, including combination with other antianginal agents, cardiac glycosides, anxiolytics, antiarrhythmics and diuretics. When using Intensain, it is recommended to exercise caution and monitor blood clotting, as there may be a tendency to hypercoagulability.

Overdose of Intensain has not been sufficiently studied so far, so there is no data on the consequences and specific treatment in case of overdose.

Intensain is an important drug for the treatment of angina pectoris and the post-infarction period. However, before you start using it, it is recommended to consult your doctor or pharmacist to get detailed information about the drug, its use, dosage and possible side effects.
