Lumbar (lumbalis; Latin lumbus - lower back) is a term referring to the lumbar spine or lumbar region.

The lumbar spine includes 5 vertebrae (L1-L5) located in the lower back. This section ensures mobility of the lower back and bears the main load when bending and turning the body.

The lumbar region is the lower back, the area of ​​the back between the lower ribs and the pelvis. This area contains the muscles and ligaments that support the spine.
