Joint Hip

The hip joint is one of the largest joints in our body. It is located in the pelvis and serves as the junction of the femur and pelvis. The names of this joint in the medical literature vary: “koksal”, “acromial”, “penetron”, etc. The main diagnostic criterion for the hip joint: a healthy person in the position of flexion and extension of the hip has no pain, no symptoms when palpating, no lameness.

The main functions of the hip joint and diseases that can lead to its disorders

He takes part in the following functions:

- Loads the bone mass adjacent to it. - Is a fulcrum for the lower limbs. - Adjusts the distance between the thigh and pelvis. - Determines the shape and configuration of bone tissue. If there are injuries, it can transmit their symptoms to other organs.

Normally, symptoms of problematic conditions are not observed if this is not the initial stage of a developing pathology. Important: the adult hip joint controls only the ability to move.

Hip disease or dysfunction is extremely dangerous as its progression can cause disability. In the initial stages, they are characterized by predominantly aching, excruciating pain in the groin or throughout the entire sacral area, which intensifies when lying down and pressing on the limb. A person may stop walking, running, squatting, and pain in the left (or right) thigh occurs for no apparent reason. Other symptoms may occur:

Pain in the head: when the problem is localized in the pelvic area, pain occurs in the back of the head or cervical spine. Persistent lameness: The person has a noticeable limp when walking. May bend leg when rising or sit on both buttocks when standing. This does not indicate one-sided damage to the bones of the hip joints. However, a unilateral form of damage is more common. Varus deformity: curvature inward relative to the axis of the limb. The position of the femoral neck changes to a beveled appearance, and the angle of the femur appears. If the pathology is bilateral, then dislocation of the hip joints in the area of the patella occurs.
