Candibene: an effective antifungal agent

Candibene is an antifungal drug manufactured in Germany by Merkle GmbH. It is part of a pharmaceutical group of antifungal agents based on imidazole and triazole derivatives. Candibene contains the active substance clotrimazole, which has a broad spectrum of action against fungal infections.

Candibene is produced by various manufacturers, including Merkle GmbH in Germany and Merkle GmbH in Austria. It is available in several dosage forms, including 100 mg and 200 mg vaginal tablets, 1% cream, and 1% topical solution.

Candibene is effectively used to treat various fungal infections. Cream, aerosol, ointment, lotion and solution for external use are used for the treatment of urogenital candidiasis caused by Candida albicans, erythrasma, dermatophytosis caused by Malassezia furfur, athlete's foot, inguinal athlete's foot, paronychia, dermatomycosis of smooth skin, skin folds, beard, mustache, pilar parts of the head caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis, as well as for the treatment of onychomycosis, pityriasis versicolor and mycoses complicated by secondary pyoderma.

Vaginal tablets, gel and cream are used to treat genital infections caused by Candida or Trichomonas vaginalis fungi, vaginal bacterial superinfections and sanitation of the birth canal before childbirth.

Before using Candibene, it is necessary to take into account some contraindications. It is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to clotrimazole, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.
