Kidney Spongy

The spongy kidney is a paired urinary organ located in the retroperitoneal space behind the renal pelvis on its lateral surface. Human kidneys have a mass of about 250 g. The human kidney is distinguished by the upper end - the cone, the renal legs and the medulla located around the renal artery and vein. The mass of the medulla makes up 5–10% of the mass of the kidney.
