Knee (Geniculum)

Knee (lat. geniculum) - a sharp bend of any anatomical structure, for example, the bend of the facial nerve in the medial wall of the middle ear.

The term "elbow" is used in anatomy to refer to the sharp bends of nerves, blood vessels and other structures. The best known are the genu of the facial nerve in the middle ear and the genu of the internal carotid artery. The bend allows nerves and blood vessels to change direction without compromising the integrity of the structure.

The genu of the facial nerve is located in the canal (facial nerve canal) of the medial wall of the middle ear. It separates the canal from the internal auditory canal. Thanks to the knee, the facial nerve changes direction from vertical to horizontal.

The internal carotid artery is located at the base of the skull, where the artery bends and heads upward into the cranial cavity. This bend protects the brain from sudden changes in blood flow.

Thus, the geniculate plays an important role in anatomy by allowing structures to change direction without damaging their integrity. The most famous are the genu of the facial nerve and the internal carotid artery.

The knee is a sharp curve in an anatomical structure. The knee can be either a bend in the facial nerve or a bend in bone or cartilage. Knees can be found in a variety of anatomical structures, including otitis media, larynx, and brain.

The genu of the facial nerve is one of the most common genu in the middle ear. It occurs as a result of an acute bend of the facial nerve within the medial wall of the middle ear. Knee can cause various problems such as facial muscle dysfunction, hearing loss and ear pain.

Various methods are used to treat geniculate facial nerves, including surgery and conservative treatments. Surgery may involve removing the knee and repairing the facial nerve. Conservative methods include the use of steroids, physical therapy and other methods.

In addition, knees can occur in other anatomical structures. For example, a knee in the larynx can lead to voice and breathing problems. Knee in the brain can cause various symptoms such as headache, dizziness and lack of coordination.

Overall, the knees are complex anatomical structures that can cause various problems in the body. They require careful study and treatment to prevent possible complications.

A genicular is a sharp bend in an anatomical structure. One example would be the bending of the facial canal in the medial wall of the middle ear, also the bending of the facial nerve canal in the ear canal. The image below shows an example of the Facial Canal Knee. The knee means a bend or arc-shaped cross-section of the anatomical body under conducting fluid, muscles and a number of other organs (for example, hair, nerves or blood vessels, limbs, skin, etc.).
