Lung Root

The root of the lung (lat. radix pulmonum) is the uppermost (not immersed in the lung) part of the root of the lung, a continuation of the inward root of the aorta along its entire length, outwardly it is separated from the aortic root already near the bifurcation and the vessel passing through it.

The root of the lung is the uppermost section, which faces the root of the heart. The root of the lung starts from the aortic arch and forms a muscular thickening. The thinner part of the root surrounds the descending aorta. The back of the root is adjacent to the diaphragm. The apex of the root ends at the first thoracic vertebra.
