Ethmoid bone

The ethmoid bone is considered one of the rare bones in the human body. The ethmoid bone is a structural part of the facial skeleton of the skull and divides the nasal cavity, the middle and posterior parts of the oral cavity, behind which there is fiber and glandular formations. Located symmetrically on the right and left by an ethmoidal crest in the lateral plate of the facial part of the base of the skull, forming the cavity of the sphenoid bone. The bony basis of the body of this organ is represented not only by the ethmoid bone - in fact, its function and location in the body are interrelated. To avoid complications and for the purpose of prevention, you need to periodically monitor the condition of this organ. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly contact an otolaryngologist, who, if necessary, will prescribe x-rays and computed tomography. Diagnosis is mainly based on signs of nasal disease, but can also show possible damage to other organs. Complications can also be caused by injuries (facial damage and concussion). A CT scan may be recommended by your doctor if you have the following symptoms (see also diseases):

* chronic ear and sinus diseases; * frequent respiratory diseases; * diseases of the gums, teeth, nasal mucosa; * migraine; * pressure surges;

The results are interpreted by a doctor.
