You should end up with an original T-shirt with holes in the front and back. Put it on over a white top or T-shirt and that's it, your skeleton costume is ready. If desired, the same can be done with the lower part of the suit. The right makeup and knuckle gloves will complete the look.

To make regular black clothes look like a skeleton costume, you need to draw “bones” on it. To perform this work, you can use white acrylic or gouache paint. If you wish, you can use paint with reflective particles, such a costume will look especially impressive on the dance floor. And if you are creating a children’s version of the costume, then you can use colored paints to depict the bones, so the little party participant will look more fun and cute.

To depict “bones” on fabric, you will need to prepare a stencil. You can draw it on cardboard and cut it out yourself. Further description of the work step by step:

1. lay out clothes (turtleneck, T-shirt, trousers, etc.) on a table or any other flat surface;

1. carefully attach the template, making sure that the axes of symmetry coincide;

1. Since the dye can easily transfer to the opposite side of the clothing, you need to use a protective pad. Simply cut out a piece of thick cardboard and place it under the layer of fabric with which we will work;

1. pour the paint into a bowl or any other wide container;

1. Using a sponge (a piece of foam rubber), we begin to apply paint into the slots of the stencil;

1. if you plan to make the image more “glamorous”, then you can sprinkle glitter on top of the paint that has not yet dried;

1. wait for the paint to dry and remove the template.

The main difficulty in creating this version of the costume is creating stencils. However, there is no need to strive for complete anatomical accuracy, although the general appearance of the bones (chest, pelvis, etc.) should be recognizable.

Option two - cut it out

To make this version of the costume, you will need not one, but two T-shirts of different colors - white and dark (most often, black is used). A black T-shirt will “suffer” so much that after the party it will have to be thrown away, but a white T-shirt will remain unharmed, so you can safely put on a new thing.

With this manufacturing method we also need a stencil. You can transfer the image of the “bones” onto a T-shirt using a tailor’s chalk or a thin piece of soap (the soap must be completely dry).

Once the silhouette of the chest is depicted, you will need to cut holes on the black T-shirt in accordance with the outlined lines. Now we put on a white tight T-shirt or turtleneck, and on top of it we put on the clothes in which we cut holes. The white color will show through the holes, giving the appearance of protruding skeletal bones.

The disadvantage of this version of the suit is that the knitted fabric from which the T-shirt is made can “creep” and tear, since the “jumpers” that we leave should be quite narrow. In addition, in such a suit we only have the “top” of the skeleton; the bottom will be represented by ordinary trousers or a skirt.

Option three - economical

If you don’t have suitable clothes at your disposal that can be “sacrificed” to create a costume, you can choose this design option. In this case, the clothing will not be damaged; it can then be worn, of course, after distributing the stripes first.

The method of making a costume is simple - we cut out the silhouettes of bones from white paper, and then sew them onto clothes using a needle and thread. To make the suit more durable, it is better to use white plastic film instead of paper (you can use white shopping bags). We sew the cut out “bones” onto the turtleneck and trousers. If desired, the image of the bones can be duplicated on the back.

The skeleton costume is ready! All that remains is to do the appropriate makeup so that the resemblance to the character is complete.

7. In the center of the “hat” we cut out slits for the eyes and sew on the cut out pieces of fabric. There is no need to make such a hat yourself - you can buy a masquerade mask in a store or paint your face with makeup. It will be much easier this way.

The third type is for girls.

1. Sew fragments of ribs, etc. onto the dress.
2. Buy black nylon tights or leggings and also sew bones on them.
3. Low shoes or heeled sandals will complete the look.

To cover your face, you can also use a mask or apply thematic makeup.

We complement the image with accessories

A mask will complement the image. It is not necessary to buy stamped versions in theme stores; you can create it yourself.

Algorithm of actions to create an original accessory:

1. White paper, string or elastic thread, felt-tip pen, glue, scissors and pencil to draw a sketch.
2. Draw yourself or use a stencil the outline of the skull, eye socket, openings for the mouth and nose.
3. Cut out the design from cardboard.
4. Carefully cut holes so you can see the world around you.
5. Outline the eye sockets with a dark marker to make them stand out more.
6. Draw the teeth in the mouth and carefully outline them. The darkness of the drawing depends on your desire to create.
