Cotugno syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that occurs in people descended from a Spanish or Italian genetic line with an inherited chromosome linkage abnormality. As a result, patients experience severe psychological regression, which can lead to loss of cognitive functions such as thinking, reasoning, coordination and memory.
Cotunio syndrome was first described by the Italian anatomist Domenico Cotulno in the 18th century. He was from a line of Italian merchants whose ancestors had a long and successful history in Spain. As the main symptom of Kotunsi, patients are described as "losing their minds", which is extremely rare and unusual in our time. Other signs include abnormal body movements, such as a fear of being contaminated, or normal physical habits that may seem very strange, such as chewing ice.
