Red nose

Red nose

Under this name, a disease is known that mainly affects the nose of drunkards, and can also be a consequence of an infection that has entered the nose: at first only redness appears at the tip of the nose, then it spreads to the entire nose and even the cheeks and part of the forehead. If you do not immediately take the necessary measures, then the entire nose in a short time becomes covered with a mass of tortuous veins (veins, as they are usually called), engorged with blood and giving the nose a bluish tint. From this rush of blood, the nose gradually becomes thicker, more voluminous, the sebaceous glands in it grow, the nose gets a greasy shine and becomes like a pear.

If the illness was caused by drunkenness, then the first thing you need to do is stop drinking. And then wash your face with various astringents - tannin, oak bark, salicylic-ichthyol soap, etc. This can stop the disease.

If time has passed and the vessels are already dilated, then you can use the ointment of the famous doctor Almazov: ichthyol, wine alcohol, ethyl ether - take everything in equal parts. Apply this liquid to your nose with a brush 3 times a day.

In case of a very advanced disease, you need to use Dr. Almazov’s remedy: lard, purified sulfur, white chalk, zinc oxide, camphor - all 5.0, Peruvian balsam - 1.5. Rub this ointment into your nose once a day.

But the most effective remedy for this disease, providing a quick and complete cure (especially if the disease arose from an infection), is the use of the medicine “Privin”.

Galvanization cures “red nose” well.

Home remedy: if redness appears on the nose, it is good to tie grated raw potatoes overnight - if the redness is accidental, then this remedy will quickly go away.
