Ivan Vasilievich Kudintsev is one of the outstanding surgeons of the 20th century, who made a huge contribution to the development of science and medicine in Russia. His knowledge, experience and professionalism allowed him to create many unique treatment methods and operations.
One of Kudintsev's most famous works is the creation of an artificial anus (in Latin "anus praestaturalis"). In 1903, he presented this method at the VI International Medical Congress in St. Petersburg. The artificial anus was created by reconstructing the rectum and inserting it into the patient's anus. This treatment method has been applied in various fields of medicine - from gynecology to gastroenterology.
