Lebshek, Danilo - renowned Austrian doctor, professor at the University of Zagreb, famous surgeon, writer and poet. Born on August 31, 1812 in Wiese, near Linz, in the Upper Austrian province (Ottonia). He was educated at the Benedictine Lyceum, near Marburg, and completed his medical education there. In 1836, having familiarized himself with the Parisian school of osteoplastic operations, Burdenko independently performed the amputation of the right leg of a 27-year-old boy in this way.
