Lymph Nodes Facial Deep

Deep facial lymph nodes (lymphoglandulae faciales profundae, lymphonodi faciales profundi) - a group of lymph nodes located in the deep layers of the face.

The deep facial lymph nodes include:

  1. Submandibular lymph nodes - located under the lower jaw along the inner surface of the body of the lower jaw.

  2. Parotid lymph nodes - located near the external auditory canal.

  3. Retropharyngeal lymph nodes - lie along the internal carotid artery, deep in the neck.

  4. Lingual lymph nodes - located in the thickness of the root of the tongue.

The deep facial lymph nodes drain lymph from the deep structures of the face - muscles, bones, mucous membranes of the nasopharynx, and oral cavity. They play an important role in immune surveillance and the fight against infections in the head and neck region.

Deep facial lymph nodes are an important part of the human immune system. They are located in the deep layers of the tissues of the face and neck, and play an important role in protecting the body from infections and other harmful influences.

Deep facial lymph nodes are small oval formations, ranging in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters. They are located along the lymphatic vessels and are connected to each other by lymphatic passages. Each node contains lymphoid tissue, which contains lymphocytes and other immune system cells.

The deep facial lymph nodes collect lymph from various areas of the face, including the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and skin. They also collect lymph from the neck and head. Lymph nodes are filters that cleanse the lymph of microorganisms, toxins and other harmful substances.

When an infection or other inflammatory disease occurs in the body, the deep facial lymph nodes begin to actively work to fight the causative agent of the disease. They increase in size, may increase in number, and may become painful to the touch. This occurs because blood begins to flow into the nodes in greater flow to bring immune cells to where they can fight infection.

In some cases, deep facial lymph nodes can become very large and cause discomfort or even pain. In such cases, you may need to see a doctor. Your doctor may order tests to find out what is causing the enlarged nodes and initiate treatment.

In general, the deep facial lymph nodes are an important part of the human immune system, which protects the body from infections and other harmful influences. If symptoms of enlarged nodes appear, you should consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
