Make a Face

Sometimes Sharla remembers how her mother liked to decorate tuna fish dishes, making a mouth out of green pepper strips, eyes out of olives, curls out of carrots, and a collar out of parsley. Your child can test their creativity with mashed potatoes or some cereal. Here are some decorative details: tomatoes, herbs, raisins, carrots, cucumber slices, peas, nuts and jam. Let your child think about how different ingredients can be used to make eyes, mouth, nose, hair and other facial features. This is a great way to stimulate imagination and creativity while eating. Encourage your child to experiment with different foods and create unique faces. Who knows, maybe your child will grow up to be a future artist or sculptor!
