Mastoptosis

Mastoptosis is the prolapse of the mammary glands. This condition is characterized by excessive stretching of the ligaments that support the breasts, causing breast tissue to move downward.

The causes of mastoptosis can be different. These include:

  1. Age-related changes and loss of skin elasticity
  2. Sudden weight fluctuations
  3. Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  4. Hereditary predisposition

Symptoms include:

  1. Drooping and sagging breasts
  2. Asymmetry of breast shape
  3. Pain and discomfort in the chest area
  4. Redness and irritation of the skin due to friction with clothing

Both conservative and surgical methods are used to treat mastoptosis. Conservative treatment includes wearing a special bra and exercises to strengthen the chest muscles. The surgical method is mastopexy - breast lift with strengthening of the ligamentous apparatus.

Thus, mastoptosis is a common condition associated with sagging breasts. Timely diagnosis and treatment help prevent the progression of this disease.

**Mastoptosis** is a pathological condition in which the breasts droop down and take on a ptotic appearance. Mastoptotic deformity can occur on one side or on both sides, regardless of the woman’s age. This condition can be due to a number of reasons, such as age-related changes, loss of elasticity of breast tissue, hormonal imbalance, calcium or B vitamin deficiency, and obesity. Symptoms of mastoptosis include breast deformation, stooping, limited chest mobility, nipple tenderness and tenderness.
