Melanocarcinoma

Melano- is a combination of two Greek words: melan (marble) and karcino (cancer). Melonoblastoma is formed by the uncontrolled division of cells that produce melanin, the pigment that colors the skin and hair. This process is activated by excessive exposure of the skin to sunlight.

In dermatology, the word “melanocytoma” is used several times more often to designate melanoma, and less often – “dysplasia”. This is a pigmented tumor that occurs in places where pigmented cells – melanocytes – accumulate in the skin. In most cases (65%) melanoma develops in layers
