Surgeries to narrow the vagina are performed for the same reasons as correction of urinary incontinence in women. Indications for surgery for narrowing of the vagina may include: prolapse of the genitals, decreased tone of the pelvic floor muscles, and the presence of genitourinary syndrome. Urethropexy can be performed at any stage of decreased bladder tone and is not recommended only for inflammatory processes in the bladder and urinary tract. In this case, it is recommended to first treat the inflammation, and only then operate. However, if the urethra is significantly narrowed, the operation is also performed during an exacerbation.
