Methotrexate Natria is a drug belonging to the group of anticancer drugs - antimetabolites. It inhibits the process of cell division by blocking the enzyme necessary for this process - thymidine phosphorylase. As a result, the number of healthy cells decreases and the likelihood of cancer cells dying through programmed death increases. The possibility of recurrence after cancer treatment is reduced. The medicine is used for various diseases associated with an increased number of tumor cells. Such diseases include bronchogenic carcinoma, melanoma, breast tumor, lymphocytic leukemia and others. The drug also treats rheumatoid arthritis (inflammation of the joints), rheumatism, and skin cancer.
