Mumps False

Mumps is a disease that is caused by a special form of the virus. Its distinctive feature is the damage to the salivary glands, as well as the body as a whole. Persons of preschool and primary school age are susceptible to mumps. Pathology can be extended to any glands: small and large, parotid, submandibular, sublingual, subpharyngeal. Most often we encounter mumps in children, mainly in boys, due to the more developed parotid gland.

Most often, the disease begins suddenly. Even before noticeable signs of the children’s condition appear - general malaise, abdominal pain, body temperature rises. With mumps, it remains at the same number from the 2-3rd day of illness. It can also be wavy. In the first few days of the disease, the child may have no appetite and vomiting. Blood pressure levels drop, breathing becomes frequent and shallow. After some time, all symptoms of the disease subside.
