Dove Moisturizing Mousse is designed to cleanse facial skin. Suitable for normal and dry skin. Thick and elastic foam consists of millions of tiny bubbles and effectively cleanses the skin thanks to a system of soft surfactants. Concentrated NutriumMoisture Beauty Serum and Vitamin E simultaneously deeply hydrate skin, leaving it soft and smooth.

The product cannot be returned Goods of good quality that cannot be exchanged (returned) are listed in the List approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated January 19, 1998. No. 55. More details

Recently, a new product for cleansing the skin has appeared on the Russian cosmetics market - Dove mousse for washing. The neat bottles lined up in rows in stores proudly display a sticker that reads "Japan's No. 1 Brand."

To be honest, I am a big fan of Dove; I am impressed by both the brand’s products and its philosophy. I've been waiting for facial cleansers for a long time, and I finally got it. But this bright sticker screaming about “Brand number 1” confused me a little. I still wonder if the Japanese are even aware that they awarded Dove the palm? Judging by the information from the official website, the study was still conducted among Japanese women, but the sample was only 1,500 people.

Looking at these stickers, it was impossible not to remember the popular, truly Japanese Biore mousses. So I remembered and decided to compare them.

I'll start with Dove cleansers. The brand has released mousses for washing in three versions: mattifying - for oily and oily skin, moisturizing - for normal and dry skin, and caring - for dry and dull skin of uneven tone. I haven’t even seen the caring version on sale yet (at least in my city), so I purchased the mattifying and moisturizing mousses.

Dove Mattifying Cleansing Mousse

for combination and oily skin with enlarged pores

The packaging is quite familiar for mousse clinsers - a small bottle equipped with a pump dispenser. To prevent the pump from reacting to accidental pressure during horizontal storage or transportation, a stopper with a dove (brand symbol) is provided. Volume - 160 ml.

If you unscrew the bottle, you can find aromatic water inside, which is not new

:)

Foam, as we know, is obtained precisely thanks to the pump. It is dense and thick, but soft, like a fluffy cloud, it is very pleasant to use. Foam mousse does not fall off immediately after contact with the skin and even after adding water.

The fragrance is present, quite bright, but (subjective, of course), thin and soft. Of course, it is only felt when washing.

As for the most important thing - cleansing - the mattifying mousse showed itself to be excellent: it gently but efficiently cleanses the skin. There is no feeling of tightness after washing, but some dry skin can be noted (observed in winter). It’s just worth considering that my skin is not oily. If I apply thicker and richer creams/masks at night, which leave behind stickiness and/or shine, then when I wash my face in the morning, the mousse does not dry out at all. At the same time, there was never any tightening of the skin. Accordingly, I conclude that this product is quite suitable for really oily skin.

The consumption is moderate, it should be enough for a couple of months of daily use - one portion of foam is enough to wash your face.

The price is low - about 300 rubles in regular drogerie and imag stores.

Dove Moisturizing Cleansing Mousse

for normal to dry skin

muss-dav-dlya-umyvaniya-lica-YsMaZ.webp

The moisturizing mousse does not differ from its mattifying brother in appearance in almost any way, except for the sole color of the design: the mattifying one is decorated in a green tone, while the moisturizing one is blue. Otherwise, everything is the same: the same small bottle with a pump and stopper, inside the same liquid, which turns into thick foam at the exit.

Fragrance is another difference. The moisturizing version has a richer and thicker aroma, so unique, perfumery and floral. Unfortunately, I don’t like him, but this, again, is a subjective point.

As for cleansing, it also does not cause any complaints, with the only difference that the mousse for normal and dry skin never made me feel dry skin, and there was no urgent need for a generous portion of moisturizer. Although I still don’t believe in moisturizing from the mousse itself (as well as from any other cleansing product).

For my skin, which is normal in sebum production but prone to inflammation, I would choose a mattifying mousse for the summer, and a moisturizing mousse for the cold season.

The price is similar: around 300 rubles.

It’s most logical to compare products of the same focus, so I bought Dove “Moisturizing” Mousse for washing purposely for comparison with Biore mousse - it also has a moisturizing effect.

Biore Cleansing Mousse with Moisturizing Effect

And now about the much acclaimed Biore mousse. The bottle is a little more squat, the volume is slightly smaller - 150 ml.

Also, the pump, which produces thick foam, originally had a transparent stopper. The foam is elastic and dense and does not fall off. The fragrance is delicate floral, unobtrusive. By the way, foam residues can accumulate in the pump and dry out, which does not happen with Dove mousses.

The cleansing is gentle but effective; there is no feeling of tightness or dryness.

What are the differences and similarities between Dove and Biore moisturizing cleansing mousses?

  1. Biore mousse has a shorter composition. Both products are not organic, but probably the fewer ingredients the better. I am not a chemist or a cosmetologist, this is my subjective opinion.
  2. Same pump mechanism. Perhaps this is indeed plagiarism and borrowing on the part of Dove, but personally I don’t really care about it.
  3. Both mousses produce equally dense foam that does not fall off. If you shake the bottle, the foam will be denser for both products. When Dove and Biore are applied simultaneously, they can only be distinguished by their smell. Well, maybe there is some kind of difference, but you need to study the foam directly with a magnifying glass, which I did not do.

  1. Fragrance - of course, it is different. This is a matter of taste and personal preference, here I am for Biore (in general, in terms of fragrance, I liked Dove mattifying mousse the most).
  2. Both products gently but effectively cleanse without drying out the skin. They are equally not intended for makeup removal.
  3. A slight difference in volume: 160 ml of Dove “Moisturizing” cleansing mousse versus 150 ml of Biore cleansing mousse with a moisturizing effect.
  4. Consumption is equally economical, the product lasts a long time, even with daily use.
  5. Price: Dove mousses are half the price.
  6. Availability: unfortunately, Biore products are not sold at every turn (certainly in small towns), but purchasing Dove is not at all difficult.

It is obvious to me that there are no compelling arguments for buying Biore mousses, paying almost twice as much. Of course, we are all different, perhaps Dove products will be drying for some, while similar Biore products will not. However, for myself, I did not find any significant differences in such similar cleansers, so I am for reasonable savings.
