Muscle Quadratus Femoris

The muscles form the shell of the femur on all sides except the front. They are divided into muscles of the superficial layer and muscles of the deep layer. Superficial muscles (mm. sartorius, gracilis, fascia lata) are attached to the greater trochanter of the femur, short head m. adductor magnus - to the upper edge of the lesser trochanter. The deep muscles are divided into posterofemoral and anterior femoral, with the posterior femoral muscles located in the pelvic girdle, and the anterior ones attached to the medial surface of both femurs.
