Muscle Column

The muscle column (muscle column, muscle electrocoil, myolectrocalque) is a structural element of striated muscle, which consists of one or more myofilaments nested within each other. The muscular column is the functional unit of contraction and relaxation of striated muscles. The number of columns depends on the length of the muscle fibers. Each muscle column has a fusiform shape and is attached to the filiform apparatus of another muscle column using bundles of thin “molecular” filaments. These threads are called dendrites. Their basic structure is located at a level above the protein equipment. The elasticity of the muscle column is ensured by the presence of a pronounced compression system inside it.
