Neuralgia of the glossopharyngeal muscle is characterized by painful sensations in the posterior wall of the pharynx and in the area of the soft palate.
Reflex spasms of the pharyngeal muscle and soft palate and their facial activity appear. The voice becomes quieter, if you speak slowly or whisper, the pain becomes less intense. Due to impaired tension in the pharyngeal muscles, the voice may be choppy, loud, or hoarse. For treatment, it is possible to use antispasmodics and muscle relaxants with an analgesic effect. General analgesics, sedatives, and physiotherapy are also used to improve muscle innervation.
