Niftolide

Niftolid is an antiandrogenic drug produced in Ukraine and Russia by the Kiev Research Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism and Pharmakon, respectively.

Niftolide comes in the form of 250 mg tablets and an ointment containing 2.5% flutamide. Flutamide is the active ingredient of the drug.

Niftolide is used for the palliative treatment of progressive prostate cancer, including metastases, as well as for the differential diagnosis of hypogonadism in men.

Contraindications to the use of Niftolid are hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, liver and kidney diseases, and pathology of the thyroid gland.

Possible side effects: gynecomastia, pain in the mammary glands, galactorrhea, jaundice, increased activity of liver enzymes, nausea, vomiting, hemorrhages, methemoglobinemia.

When treating with Niftolid, monitoring of liver function is necessary.
