Nude lip balm

Previously, in principle, I only accepted nude lipsticks that were barely noticeable on the face. Now my horizons have expanded significantly, but I always keep a couple of universal, soft pieces that are always appropriate and will go with any makeup or even no makeup at hand.

For some reason, nude lipsticks are associated with something nondescript, the color of foundation, but this is not at all the case. Natural colors, close to the natural shade of the lips, can be expressive and beautiful, you just need to choose your own option that will decorate. For our article, I chose just such a lipstick that emphasizes the lips and does not erase them.

This lipstick is called Made To Last Lip Duo (Pupa) in 011 Natural Brown. The color here, as the name suggests, is natural with a slight pink tint and a coffee undertone. This is a calm, but moderately rich nude, without pronounced warm or cold tones, which does not fade into red and does not whiten the lips.

I love this lipstick not only for the color, but also for the extremely interesting formula. The bottle consists of two parts, one contains the pigment, and the other contains the top coating. You can use only 1 part, then the lipstick will be semi-matte, and if you cover it with gloss, a vinyl gloss will appear. The colored part has a formula very similar to the first series of NYX matte lipsticks, the same mousse texture and even the aroma is somewhat similar, but unlike Soft matte Lip Cream, here the coating dries completely, does not leave even a hint of fingerprints and lasts a very long time. The transparent half is essentially just a lip gel, but apparently there is some kind of secret in the formula there too.

All matte lipsticks are more or less long-lasting, but this Pupa breaks all records. At first I thought that in the second step, when gloss is applied to the matte base, it will all spread, the brush will instantly become dirty, and the transparent part will suffer the same fate as eyebrow gels, the same dirt and cloudiness. Surprisingly, nothing like this happened, the color pigment stays on as if nailed down, the top coat does not eat or smear anything, and the brush remains perfectly clean. This gloss also lasts well, not like a lip gloss; for several hours you don’t have to worry about your lips or check whether everything is in place.
This unique, ultra-long-lasting formula combined with a nice, natural shade is, in my opinion, a great choice for everyday makeup.

To be honest, I don’t really like nude lipsticks - somehow I can’t find a shade that I like and doesn’t look downright boring. And if we add to this that flesh colors don’t suit me very well, then we get a very sad picture. So when Belarusian Instagram was flooded with news about the release of the matte line lipstick PinAp from LuxVisage, I immediately noticed a very unusual nude, but, as it turned out, I was not alone, because in any stores the shade was immediately swept away and it turned out to be not so easy to buy it. However, I was persistent.

So, meet the beauty Cara №504. Agree, it’s impossible to call this color simple - there’s a touch of brown, a touch of pink, and even that very popular purple haze. On the lips in different lighting it looks a little different, but in general, a beautiful gray-lilac undertone is always visible. I won’t lie, it’s hard to call this color everyday, I want to wear it with fairly bright eye makeup so that my face doesn’t disappear completely, but nevertheless, my hand periodically reaches out to it, unlike other nude lipsticks in my modest collection.

As for the characteristics, this is a powdery-cream lipstick that creates a slight matte effect on the lips, not dull, of course, but quite noticeable. The pigment transfers perfectly; it can be applied either in a thin layer or, if desired, in a denser one. You can easily do without a contour pencil. Dry lips can be emphasized, but with constant care and balm immediately before application, the lipstick will not reveal all the nuances and flaws. Longevity is average, about two hours.

In general, despite some shortcomings (insignificant for me), it will be quite difficult not to fall in love with this lipstick. And for fans of nudes, I highly recommend getting to know her if you have the chance. I may not be distinguished by the ability to beautifully convey the shade on my lips, but believe me, in life it looks quite interesting and unusual.

I don’t have a lot of nude lipstick – for our joint article I only collected three pieces.

But each of them deserves to become a participant in this project. I came up with short, succinct names for all three.

1. Comfort. Missha Glam Art Rouge in #BR02.

Excellent in all respects - beautiful magnetic case, pleasant smell, high pigmentation, super soft application, seductive wet shine and wonderful behavior on the lips.

The color is warm, butterscotch with a slight pinkish undertone.

2. Style. Chanel Rouge coco in shade #51 Ce Soir.

A laconic heavy tube, the famous rose scent, dense application, noticeable hydration and protection from negative external factors.

The color is just fall-autumn. Depending on the lighting, it changes from warm brown to cool brown.

3. At the height of fashion. Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips in #Dopey.

A simple tube, convenient applicator, neutral fragrance, good pigmentation. Yes, you need to prepare your lips, otherwise it will accentuate the flaking. But it is comfortable to wear. Afraid of fatty foods and hot drinks.

The color is a cool dusty rose, appropriate for most makeup looks.

Girls are fickle creatures. Sometimes we are ready to paint our lips different colors every day, and sometimes we wear the same favorite lipstick for weeks. I'm not an exception. For some, autumn is the time of red and wine lipsticks, but I fell in love with neutral ones. And it so happened that now I have (if you count one lipstick palette and two soft pencils) 11 of them, and all of them are almost the same color. What doesn't sound like madness?

My love overtook me in the golden autumn of 2015 in Prague. There I bought my first nude lipstick, it is still alive, and I still use it, and this is what I want to talk about. You probably already know her. This is a megahit from the German budget company Essence - Longlasting Lipstick in shade No. 6 “Barely There!”

I wouldn’t call it stable, of course, as the manufacturer states in its very name, but that’s not why I love it. This is a calm brown-pink nude, the shade with which I associate the very word “nude”. Although I honestly admit, at school we called beige lipsticks nude, which looked like foundation on the lips. For me, those times are in the past.

The lipstick is creamy and glides gently over the lips, covering their natural shade from the first layer. With a sharp tip (of course, at first) you can draw a good outline. It's not matte, but you can make it look that way by dabbing your lips with a tissue. I feel absolutely comfortable with it, I don’t feel dryness or tightness and, accordingly, it doesn’t create unnecessary folds or get caught in them. In reviews, girls often called this particular shade of this particular lipstick “their lips, only better.” Of course, I wouldn’t say that there are lips of this shade, but she really looks very pretty.

Specifically, on mine I found the inscription “Made in Italy”, I was pleased (I don’t know how true this is). But its price has not changed during this time - it costs about 200 rubles. Two years have passed, but it has not become less relevant for me, and I can still recommend it.

Nudes have always been my favorite lipsticks. Ever since the days when Jenny Lopez painted her lips the color of foundation (some ladies repeated her makeup with foundation on their lips, not lipstick). And this, for a moment, was 15 years ago. True, the concept of “nude” has changed since then. If in 2004-2005 these were shades that were clearly lighter than your lips, or tone-on-tone, now these are any shades that are similar to your tone, but a little brighter or a little lighter.

I classify a lipstick as nude if, when worn, when the makeup is already starting to wear off, I don’t see the difference between the color of the lips and the remains of the lipstick. In general, if the lipstick is a little “eaten”, but does not look sloppy, the shade is most likely nude.

For this article, I chose 2 lipsticks with different undertones - pink and beige.

A pink mouve with a creamy texture and full coverage. Oily, pleasant texture, even as if it has caring properties. Ideal for daytime makeup, when it wears off - you can’t see what exactly needs to be touched up and where, only on your lips you feel that the lipstick is starting to come off.

2. YSL Rouge Volupte №3 — Ultimate Beige.

A shade that I previously avoided is a warm, rich beige with a reddish tint. For some reason, I considered warm shades to be somehow unattractive and out of fashion. And now I wear warm shadows, lipsticks, blush - everything in general.

The trick here is the texture - it is very pleasant, weightless. The staying power is not very high, but the lipstick does not dry out the lips and softens them like a balm.

This lipstick is very comfortable to wear and goes off beautifully. Smells pleasantly fruity. I also really like its heavy case. There is no design, but its heaviness is pleasant, “dear”.

Durability It's not very high and stays on my lips for about an hour. After disappearance, the lips require nutrition. In winter, I find myself a little lacking in the care I get from the balm. Nevertheless, I don’t feel any discomfort during use; on the contrary, the balm really cares for my lips. Lips acquire a seductive gloss, dryness and tightness disappear.

In any case, for the aroma and delicate texture, I am ready to forgive him everything! I love using it, especially on hectic days when I don't have time for makeup, but still need to look presentable and neat.
