Carotid tumor

**Carotid tumor** is a malignant tumor that arises from the wall of the common carotid artery and its branches. It can develop in both adults and children, although it is most common in older people. Symptoms of a carotid tumor include persistent neck pain, changes in voice and taste, hearing and vision impairment, headache and weakness. Diagnosis of a carotid tumor includes ultrasound of the neck vessels, CT scan of the neck and angiography. Treatment of the tumor depends on the stage and may include radiation therapy, surgical removal, or a combination of treatments. To prevent the occurrence of a carotid tumor, it is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle, undergo regular medical examinations and follow the recommendations of doctors to reduce the risk of developing the disease.
