In addition, there is a wide class of simulators that, due to their dimensions, weight, cost, and complexity, can only be used in the conditions of impressive sports and recreation complexes.

In this article we will touch upon: both the standard version - the “good old” classic, which became the forefather of all such devices, and an extremely unusual and original, innovative device for obtaining a large volume, which is so necessary for us in conditions of chronic physical inactivity and cardio stress.

Sports track for running and walking

Compared to cheap budget home options, the main distinguishing feature of the designs used in health centers is presence of electric drive and provided by it wide speed control range belt movement. Currently, they produce running training devices for a wide range of purposes, which are durable and reliable in operation.

Being the ancestor of this class of sports devices, the sports treadmill for walking and running shown in Fig. No. 1 weighed 38 kg, had overall dimensions of 1400 × 600 mm (length of the running platform - 1000 mm, width - 350 mm) and provided an inclination to the horizontal surface under angle 4-10° and height adjustment of handrails: 550-900 mm.

Currently, there are hundreds of varieties and variations of original devices of this type that exist and are successfully used in all kinds of fitness centers, gyms and health centers.

So-called, 3D walking and running track, presented in Figure No. 2, is intended for the development of speed-strength qualities and endurance. This simulator consists of two connected planes: horizontal and inclined. The total length of the closed walking path is 20 m, the height of the ascent along an inclined plane is 1.8-2 m. The load can vary depending on the pace of movement and the route pattern. Up to 8 people can exercise on such a device at the same time.
