Osteitis (ossificae) is most often the collective name for a group of uncomplicated benign and malignant skeletal neoplasms that appear in childhood and adolescence. The diagnosis of osteitis is made taking into account the characteristic nature of the tumor process, its characteristics and location. The ICD-10 criteria for malignant osteitis differ from those for benign osteitis. Stage pT is characterized by the location of the primary tumor in relation to the bone structures, the immediate border between intact bone tissue and the tumor.

Osteitis (ossitus) is a disease characterized by the presence of a benign lesion or tumor of the ribs. Symptoms of the disease It manifests itself as inflammation only after the tumor grows. Here are the main symptoms of benign rib osteoma: * during exacerbation, pain appears (pulsating, aching, sharp), intensifying with changes in body position; with significant growth, breast deformation begins and swelling begins (as a rule, there is no fever); deterioration of blood flow, the appearance of venous stagnation and pain cause ischemic necrosis of the costal cartilage; progression of the pathological process leads first to the occurrence of paresthesia, and then paresis of the fragment innervating the nerves of the rib (no pain occurs); the absence of any therapy leads to malignant transformation.
