Title: "Secondary detachment"
***Section 1 - Introduction***
Secondary retinal detachment is a serious ophthalmological disease that requires emergency medical attention. It occurs after the outflow of fluid from the retina has already occurred.
Detachments can occur at any age. For example, this can happen in older people and patients who have been exposed to excessive physical activity or prolonged exposure to the sun. But most often, secondary retinal detachment is found in young men and women during pregnancy or after childbirth due to sudden changes in hormonal levels, including contraception.
