Burn centers are specialized treatment and preventive institutions (departments) designed to treat burn victims and prevent burns. A burn is damage to human body tissue caused by exposure to high temperature. Every year, more than 27 million cases of thermal injuries are recorded worldwide, of which

Burn centers are specialized medical institutions that provide emergency care to victims of burn injuries within a period of up to 48 hours from the moment of injury. The decision to hospitalize the patient is made only after all diagnostic procedures have been completed. The choice of treatment tactics is determined by the severity of the patient’s condition and the size of the affected surfaces. In case of severe burns, primary surgical treatment is performed as early as possible after the patient’s admission to the hospital. In the conditions of a burn center, it is possible to perform skin grafting with local tissues and split perforated autodermal graft or free autodermal graft throughout the entire body for up to five years, with the exception of the head and face (in this case, the terms depend on the individual characteristics of the blood supply to the skin) without limiting the depth of the lesion. All operations are performed under anesthesia according to modern protocols and using the latest technologies used in the world. Antimicrobial prophylaxis plays an extremely important role in burn disease, which should be as active as possible in order to prevent septic shock and other septic complications. Detoxification methods are also actively used.
