Pannus Traumatic

Traumatic pannus is a chronic infectious inflammatory process of the skin, accompanied by the appearance of pathological growth. Widely distributed among farm animals. Appears in humans after injuries. The presence of Klebsiella can lead to its activation. It is very difficult to get rid of it. You should consult a doctor at the first signs of illness.

A pannus (or skin ulcer) is usually located in the hoof area. In conditions of large-scale livestock farming, this leads to a significant increase in the cost of the procedure for the prevention and treatment of wound pathology of the extremities, as well as processes accompanying the hoof horn. Therefore, an important point in prevention and treatment is the competent diagnosis of hoof diseases and a quick correct diagnosis when abnormalities appear. In-depth diagnostics should take place during a full examination using diagnostic equipment. The effectiveness of such diagnostics in comparison with an examination by a veterinarian in “field conditions” will be much higher.

The main reasons for the development of pannus: * exposure to a traumatic agent, which can serve as a gateway for infection; * damage to the skin due to their insufficient healing ability as a result of impoverishment of blood vessels in a specific area; * decrease in the tone of capillaries feeding the integument; * pathological course of tissue regeneration against the background of a decrease in the body’s immune forces; * insufficient bone mineralization.
