Parina Operation

**Parina operation** is a surgical procedure aimed at excision of pararectal tissue and coccyx cysts with simultaneous expansion and release of the internal crypt from peri-vaginal tissues. As a result, optimal conditions are created for the normal position of the pelvic organs, disturbances in the configuration and function of the pelvic floor muscles are eliminated, and the source of the inflammatory process in the intestines is eliminated. It is an effective method of surgical treatment of hemorrhoids in patients of young working age in the stage of stable inflammation with impaired rectal emptying.

The Parina operation was proposed by the Soviet surgeon Pyotr Andreevich Parin in 1953. This operation was first successfully performed on December 5, 1954 at the Institute of Proctology of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, where P.A. worked. Parin.

In 1976, Professor A. A. Shakirzyanov described a method for determining the configuration of the anal canal and the volume of the pararectal space to determine indications for paroproctal divulsion. Widely used nowadays.
