Pyopneumothorax

Pyopneumothorax is a disease characterized by the accumulation of pus and air in the pleural cavity, that is, in the chest between the lungs and the chest wall. This disease can be caused by various reasons, such as chest injuries, infections, inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system, as well as some other diseases, such as cirrhosis of the liver. Pyopneumotax typically presents with chest pain, cough, difficulty breathing, nausea, and other symptoms associated with infection. In severe cases, respiratory arrest may occur.
