Pyroflam

Piroflam is a drug from the group of antitumor drugs with a pronounced anticonvulsant effect. It is obtained from the bark of peony roots. The powder of the roots of the plant contains the compounds physostigmine, cytisine, which decompose in the body to papaverine and dioscaine.

The therapeutic effect of the drug is due to its effect on the central nervous system. Pyroxilan stimulates intestinal motor function, enhances contraction of smooth muscle organs, increases the tone of skeletal muscles and blood vessels of the abdominal organs.

Indications for the use of the drug: convulsive conditions, peripheral paralysis, inflammation, tumors of the brain and meninges, depression of the nervous system,

Side effects observed include hallucinations and a feeling of numbness in the mucous membranes of the bladder and rectum. - cerebral hemorrhage - gastrointestinal bleeding - cholera and angina - tendency to seizures - hearing loss - cardiotoxic effect.
