Flathead

Flatheads are dogs whose heads are too flat, either naturally or due to selective breeding. In individuals of this group, the skull is slightly stretched in width and has a slight slope towards the cheeks. Because of this, the muzzle is very short and the eye sockets are set high. The top line of the skull is not very convex, for this reason the nickname is suitable for all dog breeds, but is most often applied to dachshunds, basset hounds and boxers.

Flat-skull canids have a characteristic facial expression; their facial expression is neutral, without emotions or feelings. These are absolutely subordinate dogs; it is impossible to look at the male’s back. His desires, his very opinion and status are perceived as the desires and opinions of the owner. Dogs do not show any aggression towards other animals. Also, such dogs are very sociable with people and quickly establish contact with other pets, if they are dogs.

Due to their tendency to dominate, these dogs are not considered the best dogs for apartment living. But during walking they do not behave actively, they are extremely calm.
