Atypical pneumonia

Atypical pneumonia is an infection that affects the lung tissue and can lead to serious health consequences and even death. The disease occurs when bacteria or viruses enter the human body and cause pneumonia. Depending on the cause of the infection, there are two types of pneumonia – bacterial (staphylococcal) and viral.

Pneumonia is not only an infectious disease, but also a life-threatening condition. Typically, symptoms of this disease appear on the second or third day after infection. Among the first signs of atypical pneumonia are high body temperature, severe chest pain, shortness of breath, cough and general weakness. Some patients may experience nausea, vomiting and sleep disturbances.

One of the main problems in the treatment of atypical pneumonia is determining the type of pathogen that caused the disease. For this purpose, blood, sputum and other biological materials are analyzed. Treatment of pneumonia should be comprehensive and include antibacterial drugs, immunomodulators and physical therapy.
