Podrez Alexander Grigorievich (1852–1900) is an outstanding Russian surgeon, the founder of the national school of surgery. At the age of 17, he entered Moscow University at the Faculty of Medicine, where from the very beginning of his studies he showed extraordinary abilities and was one of the best students. Studying at the university was interrupted by the outbreak of the Russian-Turkish War, in which Alexander Grigorievich took part on the front line. After the end of the war, he continued his studies and received a diploma with honors.
In 1875, Alexander Grigorievich began his professional career as an assistant surgeon in one of the Moscow hospitals. For several years he worked as a surgeon, performing complex operations and helping patients.
Undercut was one of the first to use new treatments such as anesthesia and heart surgery. He also developed his own techniques for wound treatment and soft tissue surgery.
Alexander Grigorievich was not only a talented surgeon, but also an excellent teacher. He trained young doctors and students, passing on his experience and knowledge to them. His students became famous surgeons and continued to develop his ideas.
However, despite all his achievements, Alexander Grigorievich was a modest man and did not like to attract attention to himself. He believed that the main thing in the medical profession is helping people and saving their lives.
Today the name of Alexander Grigorievich Podrez is known far beyond Russia. His work and treatments are used all over the world. Undercut became one of the founders of the national school of surgery and left behind a legacy that continues to live and develop.
