Atrioventricular Foramen Left

The atrioventricular atrioventricular mitral left (left) is the opening between the left atrium and the left ventricle of the heart. This opening is part of the circulatory system, which allows blood to flow from the atria to the ventricles and from the ventricles to the arteries.

The left atriogastric orifice is located on the border between the left atrium (atrium sinistrum) and the left ventricle (ventriculus sinistrus). It has the shape of an oval slit, about 15 mm long and about 8 mm wide. Through this opening, blood from the left atrium enters the left ventricle, which then pumps it into the arteries.

First, let's figure out what an atrioventricular valve is. This is the structure that separates the ventricle of the heart and the left atrium. It is necessary for proper blood circulation in the heart. The valve is formed by two leaflets, and their movement is controlled by the mitral valve (received this name because it belongs to the tricuspid group). This valve is supported mainly by muscles that are located on the posterior surface of the lateral part of the left half of the chest.
