Psycholamarckism

Psycholamarckism (distortion from Lamarckist)

- a pseudoscientific idea that animals and plants can learn by acquiring new properties or characteristics under the influence of the external environment through the mechanisms of behavioral plasticity and adaptation, and not through changes in the genetic code of heredity. The concept is based on the Lamarckian idea that altered characteristics and behavior of living organisms can be inherited, thanks to the “emanation” of latent potential, which is acquired as a result of influencing factors (natural selection) and external influences (active training).
